•1500 Gold/1000 Runestones (permanent) - Appearances: Nosgoth
Profile[]
Notes[]
- Dominate Mind is part of a long line of 'Mind Control' and 'Possession'-style abilities seen throughout the Legacy of Kain series. Blood Omen had Control Mind and Spirit Wrack (abilities fired through a projectile that gave Kain control of Human and Creature characters respectively - similar to Dominate Mind, but unlike the other abilities, these caused damage and were ultimately fatal to those it was used on as the characters souls were displaced). Soul Reaver was originally to have featured a (removed) Possess ability (gained from the similarly removed the Priestess) which would have enabled Raziel to take over even aggressive enemies[1] - a relic of this Possession ability remains in Soul Reaver 2 and can be activated with cheats.[2] Blood Omen 2 featured the projectile-fired Charm which allowed Kain to take control of non-aggressive NPC characters,[Blood Omen 2/4] while Defiance allowed Raziel to possess corpses to return to the Material Realm, but was also planned to have included a 'Mind fragment' of the Balance Emblem, which may have entailed a similar power.[3]

- Classification: Secondary abilities
- Used by: Deceivers
- Obtained from: N/A
- Cost: N/A
- Appearances: Nosgoth
Profile[]
Notes[]
The Illusion ability is noticeably reminiscent of abilities used previously by Mind Guardians. In his boss encounter in Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain, Nupraptor summoned several illusionary hazards, hinted to be caused by Nupraptor's mental powers. An almost identical illusionary skill is seen in Legacy of Kain: Defiance when Raziel is confronted by the Original Guardian of the Mind, who possessed the ability to vanish and reappear with multiple copies of himself, each of whom have lesser health - there it is labelled as Mental Simulacrum.
Shroud[]
- "Focus your energies to become invisible and damage all nearby humans for the duration of the effect"
- ―Shroud description[src]
Profile[]
- Category: Nosgoth abilities (Deceiver abilities)
- Introduced in: Nosgoth (2014)
- Classification: Secondary abilities
- Used by: Deceivers
- Obtained from: Armory
- Cost: •270 Gold/180 Runestones (7 days)
•1350 Gold/900 Runestones (permanent) - Appearances: Nosgoth
Profile[]
Notes[]
- During beta development, Shroud was originally known by the title "Phase". Despite the similar naming, it was not particularly related to the Phasing through gates ability gained by Raziel from Melchiah in Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver and used in Soul Reaver 2 and Legacy of Kain: Defiance - Along with its association with a different clan, the Shroud/Phase ability simply allows its users to temporarily become invisible and cause damage to enemies, rather than allowing them to pass through objects in a different realm. It's quite possible that Shroud could have been inspired by Kain's Mist form from Blood Omen, Blood Omen 2, and Defiance.

Alchemists (Red sisters of Anarcrothe)[]
Alchemists came equipped with a variety of equipment, often based around Fire and Naphtha or other chemical potions.
Weapons[]
Alchemist weaponry was based on a form of handheld cannon that expelled various explosive naphtha-fuelled projectiles:

Hand Cannons were a handheld cannon weapon wielded by the Alchemists of the red sisters of Anarcrothe in the War for Nosgoth seen in the mid-events of Soul Reaver of Nosgoth. As the default weapon of the alchemist class, they could be equipped or used at any time with no cost associated. The Hand Cannons were the sturdiest all round weapons with average values for power, accuracy, speed and reload time.
Notes[]
- Given the faction associated with them and the similar appearance, the Hand Cannons and other cannon variant weapons may be considered to be the successors of the Hand cannons wielded by the Vampire hunter cannoneers in the history preceding Blood Omen and the Demon hunter cannoneers in the Era following Blood Omen, as well as the predecessors of the Flamethrowers wielded by the Vampire hunters in Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver

- This article is about the default handheld cannon weapon wielded by Alchemists in Nosgoth. For the unusable weapons used by vampire hunter cannoneers and demon hunter cannoneers in Soul Reaver 2, see Hand cannons.

Multi Cannons were a handheld cannon weapon wielded by the Alchemists of the red sisters of Anarcrothe in the War for Nosgoth seen in the mid-events of Soul Reaver of Nosgoth. As the alternate weapon of the alchemist class, they could be bought from the in-game store for gold. The Multi Cannons shoot three projectile instead of one which disperse in three directions, making it easier to hit multiple targets. However, each projectile deals less damage as a single projectile from the default Hand Cannon.
