Blood Gout was a spell acquired and used by Kain during the events of Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain. It was located inside one of the many ruins within the Termogent Forest.

Profile[]

"This spell allows me to use blood from my own body as a weapon. When struck, my enemies' blood would flow from their bodies to fill me with life. 'Tis a risk, yet the rewards are a temptation."
―Kain — Listen (file info)

When used, it allowed Kain to create a projectile from his own blood which upon striking an enemy, would drain their blood to feed Kain. If the spell missed however, Kain would have wasted some of his own precious blood. Eventually stronger enemies require more than a single hit to be killed and bosses are unaffected by this spell. Like the Blood Shower spell, Kain must be careful when choosing his targets, because some creatures with tainted blood can poison him if this spell is cast upon them.

Like many of Kain's Blood Omen spells, Blood Gout is not seen in further games.

Notes[]

Like Kain, the vampire Vorador was also shown casting spells, specially during the game's intro FMV, where he is seen throwing a red magic projectile upon the energy guardian, successfully killing him and then telekinetically feeding from his blood in the same way as Kain; through not clarified, Vorador would have casted a Blood Gout spell. Also, arguably some of Vorador's brides are able to throw blood-like projectiles at Kain, although without draining any blood from him.
